Mozambique Accommodation

Garden Rooms

Our 4 garden rooms are Juwa (sun), Brubuletta (butterfly) Tataruga (turtle) and Makonde (The Makonde tribe is famous for their intricate wood carvings in Northern Mozambique). Once the original trade and storage buildings for the Niassa mansion we rehabilitated these ruins to feature three spacious twin bedded, air-conditioned rooms (Juwa, Tataruga, Makonde) and one beautiful King size room that features its own outside coral shower (Brubuletta)  All 4 rooms have large verandas with comfortable chairs to soak up the sun and watch the birds that swoop down to drink from the Niassa dip pool which is just a few barefoot steps away. All four garden rooms have en-suite marble showers and twin basins and are popular with groups of friends, families and honeymooners.

You have created a wonderful haven on this island where time really does stand still. I could sit here for weeks watching the tides and the dhows go out and come back again. The friendliness and simplicity of Ibo has restored my faith in humanity after all the horrors of Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank you for that and for showing us round this island of stories. I will never forget my New Year spent on Ibo (or the delicious prawns).
