Our 4 garden rooms are Juwa (sun), Brubuletta (butterfly) Tataruga (turtle) and Makonde (The Makonde tribe is famous for their intricate wood carvings in Northern Mozambique). Once the original trade and storage buildings for the Niassa mansion we rehabilitated these ruins to feature three spacious twin bedded, air conditioned rooms (Juwa, Tataruga, Makonde) and one beautiful King size room that features its own outside coral shower (Brubuletta) All 4 rooms have large verandas with comfortable chairs to soak up the sun and watch the birds that swoop down to drink from the Niassa dip pool which is just a few barefoot steps away. All four garden rooms have en-suite marble showers and twin basins and are popular with groups of friends, families and honeymooners.

We have been extremely impressed both with Ibo Island & surrounds and with the quality and hospitality of Ibo Island Lodge. In only a too short visit we have been really treated with atmospheric guided walks around town, incredible snorkelling at the wreck, sighting a sea turtle from our dhow and truly gourmet food. Thanks Rob & his team. – true luxuries and hotel service. We could not have been more delighted with our stay, thanks to all the staff and congratulations to the management for the focus on environmental sustainability and community development.
