Our 4 garden rooms are Juwa (sun), Brubuletta (butterfly) Tataruga (turtle) and Makonde (The Makonde tribe is famous for their intricate wood carvings in Northern Mozambique). Once the original trade and storage buildings for the Niassa mansion we rehabilitated these ruins to feature three spacious twin bedded, air conditioned rooms (Juwa, Tataruga, Makonde) and one beautiful King size room that features its own outside coral shower (Brubuletta) All 4 rooms have large verandas with comfortable chairs to soak up the sun and watch the birds that swoop down to drink from the Niassa dip pool which is just a few barefoot steps away. All four garden rooms have en-suite marble showers and twin basins and are popular with groups of friends, families and honeymooners.
To everyone at Ibo Lodge, thank you so much for a truly magical experience. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Sunsets on the veranda each night were a treat. The sea food each night was the best. The island itself is truly unique and we are privileged to have been here. Ibo is not just a place you recommend someone to visit, it’s a gift you pass on to others who would truly appreciate it. Well done!
