Kayak Safaris
Have you ever wanted to paddle atop the balmy waters of the Indian Ocean in the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique on a fully kitted sea kayak safari? Well, now Ibo Island Lodge has added Sea Kayak Safaris to their island hopping dhow adventures – another first!
The Quirimbas Archipelago is a radical new destination that has been seen by a lucky few. Historically, Ibo Island was the trading hub of this string of islands and today has over a thousand years of history and culture for you to discover.
Paddle around deserted islands and stop for a tea break on white beaches. Oar your way into pristine mangrove swamps and river mouths where unusual creatures live, unaffected by people.
Sit back at night when your crew lights the fire, grills the lobster and pours the wonderful wine. Sleep under the stars in an eco fly tent and awake to the sounds of the waves lapping nearby.
Paddling distances can vary and time can be spent paddling off the support vessel if weather conditions require this. Longer expedition style paddling trips are especially popular with groups and can be arranged on request.
The team has arranged and supported several trans Quirimbas paddling and sailing expeditions. We know the entire region intimately and together we can design the perfect, tailor-made itinerary.
These adventures are ideal for families or groups of friends and make the most spectacular honeymoon! We can cater from one to twenty paddlers at one time.
