Highlights of the 8 Day Dhow Safari Adventure- 3 days at Ibo Island Lodge on full board basis (excluding drinks)

- NON participation mobile camp. (crew assembles the camp and handles all camp duties allowing you to relax and enjoy)

Itinerary (Download the detailed PDF itinerary above) Day 1: Pemba to Mogundula Island:
- Arrive
into Pemba. You will be met at the airport and shown to your transfer
vehicle for the 3-hour road transfer to Mucojo. Arrive at Mucojo and
dhow transfer to Mogundula Island. Overnight on Mogundula Island.
Day 2: Mogundula Island:
- Relax or enjoy a sail around the island. Optional day trip by dhow to the Pangane Peninsula and/or Macaloe Island from our camp. Overnight on Mogundula Island.
Day 3: Mogundula Island to Ulumbwa:
- Depart
Mogundula for your exploration into the Quirimbas Archipelago! Sail
into the clearest of blue water with pristine corals below to explore
under snorkel.
- Enjoy an early morning paddle up the Ulumbwa
estuary viewing a variety of birds & mangroves that thrive in this
area. In the afternoon take a tour through this fishing village getting
to know the ways of these fisher folk as interpreted by your
knowledgeable guide. Overnight at Ulumbwa
Day 4: Ulumbwa to Matemo Island:
- Depart Ulumbwa for Matemo Island. We will stop on the southern tip of Matemo Island and explore this part of the island. Overnight on Matemo Island.
Day 5: Matemo Island to Ibo Island:
- Depart
after an early breakfast for the southern end of Matemo Island. If the
tides permit you will stop on a remote sandbank beach & enjoy a
light lunch. Overnight at Ibo Island Lodge.
Day 6: Ibo Island:
- Enjoy a full day’s activity on the island of Ibo - history, culture & the sandbank beach.Overnight at Ibo Island Lodge.
Day 7: Ibo Island:
- Day of leisure. Overnight at Ibo Island Lodge.
Day 8: Ibo Island to Pemba:
- An
included beautiful light aircraft flight over the islands and turquoise
waters transfers you to Pemba International Airport from Ibo Island
Lodge.
Included in the Rate:
- Light aircraft transfer to Ibo Island from Pemba.
- 3 days Ibo Island Lodge in standard rooms on sharing basis.
- Full Board excluding all drinks and mineral waters.
- 2 x Guided tour of Ibo Island with local guide
- 5 days island camping
- Island hopping Dhow safari equipment (sleeping bag and sleeping mat not included)
- Meals as per stated in the itinerary.

note that all bookings are subject to our standard terms and conditions

Notes: * Please
also note whilst on your Dhow safari all camping will be bush or island
camping with limited facilities. Washing water will be limited, and
meals simple and nutritious based on the dry stocks able to be carried
and the availability of fresh fish and seafood. The itinerary will need
to be totally flexible and is weather and tide dependent. You are
however assured of an adventure against a backdrop of varied and
pristine scenery.
