A vast expanse of mainland forest constitute the Quirimbas National Park. The area stretches for about 100 kilometres, and is uniquely located. Surrounded by the Indian ocean, and within one of Africa's largest mangrove forest, the Quirimbas is a bird lovers dream.
The Quirimbas is a mix of coastal forest and mangrove. This forest is an area of high endemicity, with many unique species found nowhere else in the world.
